) My name is Bear! I know, you've heard that name for a million chows, but I am special! I love to ride in the car and would like to sleep with someone if allowed to. I grew up tied in a yard...broke loose...got hit by a car and my not-so-nice owner brought me in to a vet, but didn't want to pay for surgery. I was turned over to a rescue group and they took care of me. My leg has healed on its own and I am fine. I especially like women. I am about 7 years young. I was adopted, but was returned. The family loved me and I love them very much..so much that I tried to protect them from strangers. They don't like me doing that very much since some of these strangers are their friends. So I need a family that has somewhere to put me when company comes over. Check out my best friend, Holly. She's available too! We would love a home together. ) This girl had been through it all. Her owners gave her up after realizing they were not caring for her properly. She was very unsocialized. She came to our rescue and was adopted by a nice family; all seemed to be looking up for our Holly. Unfortunately, she was returned 7 months later when the family was relocating and couldn't take her with them. We transferred her to another group who had a foster home open. After two days, she escaped the foster and was on the loose for a month. Too scared to come to anyone, even a friendly face, Holly roamed the streets. She avoided the trap, but stayed in the same area. Sadly, she was hit by a car. The person who found her called the number on her tag. We raced her to the emergency room and, miraculously, she was unharmed except for a few bruises. It is time for Holly to know happiness. She is a sweet little girl weighing around 25 lbs. She is a little shy, but is great with other dogs (especially her best friend Bear!) and children. She needs a patient home who will make sure she stays safe. It make take some patience, but with a great forever home and some unconditional love, I'll be the best dog ever.
